Why do people hate on Canada anyway?

Small art dump today folks. I hope you like them.

Cut for the art )

In non-art news I finally got my computer working. The video card was clocked too high, so I pulled it back a bit and now everything runs like a dream. I got to play some good ol' L4D2 with [info]zarla  finally. She went idle at one point so the rest of us punched the ever loving crap out of her until we decided to have a wall cutting rave instead. It's best not to ask since I can't rightfully explain it.

Also, randomly funny YouTube vids! I haven't linked any vids in forever it seems. Here's one, and another.

That's all I got. Scram!

Everyone loves magical art dumps

I wanted to hold off until I had a bit more, but I'm not drawing as much as I wanted to. I've run into computer issues again, but hopefully they can be resolved before too long.

Anyway, enjoy these L4D ladies. )

It might be handy if you, the master of unlocking, take it with you.

Of Mice and Tak

Thanks to [info]zarla  I'm checking out this animated "treasure" known as The Thief and the Cobbler. The whole thing is done in stream of consciousness, so the best way to understand what I'm saying is to just follow along.

"Hmmm, that rain is a bad thing, but I don't remember why"

Before I tell you a story I want to update you on some things. Last year around then end of summer, using a lawn mower I discovered a couple of rabits. One died that night and I found one more the next morning. Those two were nursed until they were old enough to be released, and they were successfully.

Well this year my brother showed me he had the skill as well, and he was better than me at it. He found 5 rabbit kits. I have some experience, so I'm taking care of them. I have a nice tall rabbit cage. It's actually a three cage rabbit tower. I have a bunch of old towels, blankets, and some of the nest fluff that we found to keep them warm. To keep predators away I've wrapped the whole thing in an old crap blanket and put rocks on top so it won't blow away.

Good, now you're up to date on the rabbit situation.

Here's where the story gets good. )

The sodding eggs have gone off

I've been awake for around 33 straight hours now. I'm not really sure what sleep feels like at this point. I just want it to come soon. Usually if I do some writing it expends enough mental energy so that I can sleep. So, that's my goal. I'm gonna talk about completely random things for a bit then eventually slip into the realm of unconscious.

I've been playing a lot of Soul Silver as of late. It's been fun. I've gotten all 16 badges and I've caught Lugia, Ho-oh, and Mewtwo all without the Master Ball. I've been putting off taking on Red in order to train for a bit, I've been trying to get a Ralts via the swarm, and a Riolu from the Safari Zone. Neither of which has been going very well for me. The reason for the Ralts is so I can make the ultimate legendary catcher. False Swipe, Mean Look, and I don't know what else.

Though since I got the 16th badge I have been playing less and less. I did dig my PSP out of storage. It was flat dead and it took me a while to find the charger, but that's all taken care of now. I've been running 3.71 on that thing forever, so I finally upgraded to 5.00. It upgraded without a hitch and I've been looking around for games to play. Right now all I've got are FF, FFII, FFVIICC, and I got FFVII as well as Castlevania: SOTN via PSN. I'm pretty excited for Peace Walker and Birth By Sleep, so there's something to look forward to. Incidentally, is there an NES or Genesis emulator for the PSP? That'd be super. I'd love to play the original Metal Gear on it. As well as a myriad of my favorite Genesis games I grew up on. So many memories. I do have an SNES emulator that I use to play games that never ended up in the states. Like Terranigma, and I don't recall how well SD3 runs on it, also I've been playing Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon: Another Story. It really is a solid RPG. I also suggest checking out Rudra No Hihou. Making your own spells, very cool. And the English translation team did a super job with it.

I've stalled on Heavy Rain, L4D2, FFXIII, and... that's it really.

I've not drawn anything at all lately. I went from having art block to not really being inspired to draw anything at all. I've also taken a break from the writing. I've written one arc, and I've blocked out information for at least three others and maybe bits that could grow to a fourth and fifth. So I've walked away from it for a bit so I can go back at it with a fresh mind.

I have been updating the LP Golden Sun series though. I think I have 41 epsiodes online and up to #52 in reserve.

It saddens me that most people in my age group only really know about Holy Grail, if even that, when it comes to Monty Python. There's so much more. Flying Circus is still brilliant. Sure Holy Grail's a great film, but Life of Brian is so much better. The Meaning of Life might not be so good, in fact I hate it, but all that other stuff is just wonderfully and hilariously silly. I've not seen Spamalot, but I have heard some of the music from it, and that's some brilliant work in there. People my age need to get away from the crap that's on these days, all the reality shows and sitcoms that try to act like documentaries. I hate them all. The only channels worth watching these days are anything within Discovery Networks. And even they aren't immune to a bit of shlock.

And... that should end my stream of consciousness

Gotta catch 'em aAAARGHGHLLHG

Me and physical activity have never really gotten along. Thanks to that bit of laziness in my life I've steadily gained a bit of weight over the past 5 years. By a bit I mean I'm 90 lbs over my target weight of 200 lbs. Anyway, today I went and played a bit of tennis with Logan and ended up pulling something in my lower back. I hope it heals soon, but for now it hurts to walk.

I've been playing a lot of Soul Silver lately. 80 Pokémon caught, 11 badges, 88.5 hours. I have all the Johto and Sinnoh starters, and two of the Kanto starters (Bulbasaur and Charmander.) Of the Hoenn starters I only really want Torchic. I caught a Snorlax and named him FatsWaller. So that's been fun.

I finally remembered to start uploading more "Let's Play Golden Sun" episodes to my YouTube page. There's now 35 episodes on there and I have 23 in reserve until I start recording again.

On the topic of dreams

I gots like a million of 'em

I'd love to live near Chicago one day, like in the Arlington Heights area. My reasoning is simple enough. Mitsuwa Marketplace. It's a Japanese market, and it's amazing. I've been a few times They have a book store full of Japanese books, manga, and magazines; some wonderful restaurants that serve ramen, other Japanese cuisines, and even other Asian cuisines; a large grocery area filled with food stuffs that make Japan famous like the seafood and weird canned drinks; and a bakery that has some of the most wonderful melon bread I've ever had. They even throw traditional festivals, though I've never been around for those. I'm not even sure which they do. Enough of that though... it sounds like I'm running advertising for the place, but I've not been asked or paid to do so. I just love the place. It's the closest I've been to traveling over to Japan itself, and may be the closest I ever get.

Hey everyone, guess what! It's around 1:55 AM as I type this here, and I just woke up! At some time between 3 and 4 pm yesterday I went to take a nap... A NAP I NEVER WOKE UP FROM.

Well, not quite, but still. The nap turned into sleep. Ah well.

Moving on... )

I'm not sure where I was going with all of this, but I've been typing it for nearly an hour and I want to get something to eat. so this is where I say goodbye like the weeaboo.

My dream

Add to Memories Share this!
I just went on a walk around the neighborhood and did a lot of thinking. Thinking about what I want to do with my life.

I don't have a ton of hobbies or interests or skills... so I know I need to go to college. The problem is I don't even know what I'd go to major in. I don't like the idea of wasting the time and money on a couple years of college that might not add up to anything.

So I sat down and thought of my passions. What is it that I love most? I love to draw. Ok... that's a hard thing to turn into a paying career. That's why the term "starving artist" was invented.

What else do I like? Japan's kinda cool. I like the culture; both old and new. There's a start. How can I turn that into a career? A lot of people in Japan have a "Gaijin Complex", so that also makes things difficult. I could go over there to be a teacher. So that's what I wish to do with my life. I want to go to college to major in teaching and English, and I want to teach English in Japan. Maybe at a high school level. It might not be much of a dream, but it's what's been going on in my mind as of late. I hope I can make it come true, even if it does mean I'll be leaving everything I know behind.

Now, how do I get to college, and where should I even go?
